Dear SIA member or supporter,
I am writing to invite you to attend one of SIA’s new Master Classes- ‘Options: Life and Work after Spinal Cord Injury’. The Master Class, which is CPD-accredited, is delivered by spinal cord injured trainers and covers topics including:
Returning to a job following injury and what needs to be considered Retraining for a new job/career Jobseeking advice ‘Access to Work’ and the rules and regulations Volunteering- what are you allowed to do whilst in receipt of benefit Plus the opportunity to meet with our Vocational Support Officer on a one to one basis
When is the next course?
Wednesday 13 November 2013, to be held at The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre, Southport, between 10.30am and 4pm (approx).
How much does it cost?
Our courses are free of charge to spinal cord injured and most other delegates (corporate/non-NHS bookings will be subject to a charge) and you will also receive lunch and refreshments. Just note on your booking form if you have any special dietary requirements.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes – our Master Classes are also open to families, carers/PAs and healthcare professionals, as well as people working or with an interest in spinal cord injury. Just let us know when you book how many people you will be bringing with you. They can also attend on your behalf if you are unable to come.
Does SIA run any other courses?
Yes! SIA has a number of other Master Classes taking place this year on Becoming A Parent After Spinal Cord Injury, Housing, Funding & Managing Your Care Needs, Choosing Your Wheelchair, Making a Claim Under the Equality Act and Motoring & Mobility. We also run a series of self advocacy courses called Your Voice. Dates for the 2013/14 calendar and online booking are on our website.
