I dropped the axel of my new grocery cart on the floor while trying to figure out the assembly instructions. It was a very heavy, but skinny, piece of metal, about 18" long. I could not pick it up with the grabber because the diameter is only a smidgin over a quarter inch. Also, it was so heavy that the magnet on the grabber wasn't strong enough to pick up one end. When I lean all the way over, hanging onto the arm of my wheelchair for all I'm worth, the axel was still about 4" out of reach. (Lightbulb Emoji 💡) I rolled over and got a little pair of pliers, then picked up the axel with them, easy as pie.
P.S. The photo is a re-enactment, on my bed, not the floor, obviously.
