I did some research and found out that there is no International Caregiver's Day as of this writing (March 28, 2016). This is unfortunate although a petition was circulated a few years back, it only got less than a hundred votes over a couple of years before the petition was cancelled. This was not very encouraging but further research revealed that there is a Canadian National Caregiver's Day. It turns out that Canada was the first country to adopt such a day. In 2010 the government of Canada unanimously adopted a motion to declare the first Tuesday of April as "The Invisible Work Day" and has been interchangeably known as "National Caregiver's Day". This year that will be April 5. Mark that on your calendar all you Canuckleheads and give your chest a beat for being trailblazers once again.
