My right hamstring is always tight and limits my training and exercise. What are some effective ways that I may be able to stretch it with little assistance? Would leaning forward over my body, chest near knees and arms / hands near the floor while sitting in my wheelchair stretch the hamstrings? Also been wondering if that movement / motion would be a good thing to train. Appreciate any hamstring stretch help. Thank you
Best thing to stretch out hamstring is long sitting while you're in bed. Actually, an exercise you can do while on the ground (referring back to your last post) is long sitting. Also if you're sitting around in your chair for long periods of time, put your legs up on something like another chair.
In long sitting, what would be a good amount of time to sit that way? I don't want to do it too short so that it does nothing or too long to cause injury
I don't think you can cause injury from stretching too long but you can from stretching too much. Start off light and as your muscles loosen up, go a little further. Ideally a few minutes of stretch would be good considering that they don't get stretched at all from sitting all day.
