Together with a team of passionate hikers and mountaineers René Wildi has started "Operation Gipfelstürmer", a project which aims to assess the accessibility of Swiss Mountains. Unfortunately, the reports are currently only available in German, but pictures say more than words, right Here the map. Just click on the pins and on the left you'll see the link to the respective reports.
If anyone is interested or is planning a trip to Switzerland I'd be more than happy to provide some translations
That's very cool, thanks for sharing that jubejube! Traveling is something I've always wanted to do as well but thought I wouldn't be able to do it anymore but it's great to see things like this and how accessible places are becoming!
jubejube, very generous of you to offer translation help. I am unable to travel (mobility, disease limitations, finances), but this would be a dream destination if I could. I was fortunate to have hiked many happy miles before becoming paralyzed.
This would be a dream for me too. I was a runner prior to my injury but loved running cross country thru mountains and woods. Hiking was great too. It would definitely be a challenge in a chair. The Beautiful scenery would be breathtaking and worth it.
By the way Jube I became a cat owner when I was injured eight years ago. I felt bad for this barn kitten and ended up becoming pals with him. Named him Bud. Here is a pic. Cats are easy and they have a mind of there own.
