How does one learn all these things about wheelchairs? I don't even know all these parts And what if you have hand issues? Who do you get to service your wheelchairs if you cant do it yourself? I am so frustrated with things i cant do. Is there a good drawing somewhere that just names all the main parts of manual and power wheelchair? Thanks a lot everybody
Usually you can download a detailed maintenance and repair manual directly from the manufacturer. Getting the work done is another matter, especially with hand issues. Some work, especially wheel-related on manual chair, can be done by specialty bicycle shops. You can order parts sent to them, or sometimes they will handle this. Manufacturers should be able to advise you on service options in your area for more major repair on manual chair or anything on power chair. Maybe there is someone in your community who enjoys mechanical work and would be willing to learn how to do maintenance for you on a regular basis. You could barter, just have to discover something they would like that you can do.
Thanks truwrecks these just might do it, i couldnt grab the little ends of the ones i have. Interesting wavewolf with power chairs there,s a hidden service manual only available to certified service people so those of us who own the chairs dont screw around with them i guess. I know there are ways to get them. Just time to do everything on the to do list wavewolf
