Thanks everyone for the responses. I feel it is imp to share this kind if vital info. I just found out i will be going to a special neurogenic bowel/ bladder clinic in two weeks( been waiting for six months) so i hope to discuss this as i also have developed a caruncle on my urethra which i believe was from straining to void before i learned intermittent cathing, Because of hand issues and difficult controlling the catheter i hav been cathing less and i think the balance is off. I normally have two BMS per day and the good old glycerin works for me too but i think its the rapidity of the matter moving out which tears my skin My actual bm is not too hard or soft and seems ideal. I have a v. Balanced diet high in fruit and veggies and some fibre every morning, ( sorry for those who do feel this is TMI) but where else can we discuss this and docs know so little? Thanks again,
Thankfully my haemorrhoids are behaving themselves at the moment, but when they misbehave I use a product called Proctosedyl Ointment, I apply it for two or three days and then everything is all good. But I must admit haemorrhoids can be a pain in the bum.
Unfortunately proctosedyl has cortisone in it:(
Hi peacewillcome, what's wrong Proctosedyl ?, sorry I'm not up on these drugs and things.
I did go to the site. Only the product called Anti Piles Blood Control gave a list of the herbs contained in the product. Those herbs are:
"It is totally an Ayurvedic medicine and it has all the herbal products like Lal Chandan, Geru, Lajalu, Kutaja, Belpatra, Kuraichala, Dhayphula, Kamal, Khas, and Shalmali Niryasa."
It may be a good product. I don't know. And I do like herbal preparations. But the information on the site is very poorly and awkwardly translated to English. In some instances it is non-sensical. Please advise the owners of the site/product that one way to improve their sales and their image would be to invest a few dollars in a professional translator so that the information on the site would make sense to readers of the English language.
I notice that peacewillcome, deserted us after starting the thread, and what a popular thread it is. Look at all the views. Must be problem for lots of people. Anyway, I just found a new possible remedy for hemorrhoids - bee propolis suppositories. You can make them yourself with a recipe of propolis, honey and beeswax (anyone whose ever used Manuka honey for a burn will appreciate its effectiveness on skin healing). You can find the recipe online. The propolis is claimed to help with inflammation and swelling, and it has anti-bacterial/anti fungal properties that also help to heal. They ones I purchased could be used as a suppository for hemms, or a pessary for yeast infections, etc. They weren't that cheap but after using for two days they seem to be working quite nicely on swelling. I was careful to only use on the outside at first, since like wavewolf, I'm very sensitive to perfumes or any kind of irritant in that region and didn't want a new bout of AD. So far so good. I can't say yet that they're a cure, but they certainly seem to have some positive effects. Here's the brand I got: link
The first thing that the thread title made me think of was a little bit funny, even though the topic isn't, was , hell: my hemorrhoids don't need any help, they are being hemorrhoids all on their own. Just gave me a chuckle, we have to find them where we can. Sorry, I hope that I haven't offended anyone.
